GlobeSonic is the next step in musical evolution. Drawing from a world of influence in their global-centric DJ sets, the trio of Fabian Alsultany, Derek Beres and Bill Bragin redefine the lines between organic and digital, secular and sacred. By spanning a century of recorded music from around the world in their unique, well-informed and thoroughly accessible sets, GlobeSonic is at once dance party and modern ritual fostering in the new musical mythology of the 21st century. Canvasing Asia, Arabia, Africa, Latin America, India, the Caribbean and Balkans (and wherever else is reachable), their parties have become legendary in the breadth of music and ease of transition they make between country, culture and continent. Comprised of three well-seasoned professionals involved in numerous facets of America’s international music industry, they are proving the world is at the touch of everyone’s fingertips…and hips. They currently hold residencies at East Village hotspot Nublu and the infamous Tribeca club SOB’s and have been showcasing artists at the prestigious WOMEX world music conference.

GlobeSonic Sound System have staged events around the world with like-minded DJs and musicians. They have represented across the United States and internationally at Berlin’s House of World Culture, Paris’ Ethnotech,
Beirut’s Strange Fruit Megaclub, Vancouver’s Alibi Room, Recife Brasil’s Abril Pro Rock festival, Montreal’s Club Soda, Amsterdam’s Boom Bar. In New York they have been seen at the Hammerstein Ballroom, Nokia Theatre, BAMCafe at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Celebrate Brooklyn, Makor, Irving Plaza, Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall, Spirit, Global Rotation at Shine and Galapagos. Artists they have shared bills with include Jamiroquai, Antibalas, The Gipsy Kings, Ojos De Brujo, Brazilian Girls, Konono No 1, Zuco 103, Karsh Kale, Yerba Buena, Tabla Beat Science, Carlinhos Brown, DJ Dolores, Aterciopelados, Cheb I Sabbah, Transglobal Underground, The New Deal and a host of others.

GlobeSonic Entertainment is a full-service international music organization heavily involved in the producing of shows, festivals and artist relations. In 2005 GlobeSonic Records launched under Ultra Records, releasing the successful Bar Bhangra and Bar Brasilia, with numerous titles planned for
2006. Each member is an experienced professional involved in various facets of the global music industry, making this trio a unique and dedicated collective. Alsultany is currently employed as Events Manager for Putumayo World Music, the planet’s largest world music record label. Beres is the former managing editor of Global Rhythm and freelances for over a dozen national publications covering international music, as well as the author of the recently published Global Beat Fusion: The History of the Future of Music. Bragin is the Director of Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater, New York’s premier world music, jazz and cabaret venue.
