*TERRI LYNE CARRINGTON’S MUCH ANTICIPATED
THE MOSAIC PROJECTRELEASED TODAY*

Hebert-Carrington Media co-founder Terri Lyne Carrington today continues her visionary musical odyssey by way of The Mosaic Project (Carrington’s fifth album overall and her first on Concord Jazz), her ambitious cross genre production featuring some of the world’s top musicians.

The veteran producer and composer is joined by Esperanza Spalding, Dianne Reeves, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Nona Hendryx, Cassandra Wilson, Helen Sung, Tineke Postma, Geri Allen, Patrice Rushen, Ingrid Jensen, Sheila E. and Gretchen Parlato, with special appearances by iconic figures such as the legendary Angela Davis.

Since her debut in 1989, Carrington has established a reputation for assembling artists of varying styles into an eclectic brand of jazz that incorporates elements of bebop, soul, funk and much more. The GRAMMY®-nominated artist creates music that adheres to the traditions of jazz yet speaks to a much broader and more diverse audience. Carrington brings this same diverse sensibility to her new recording The Mosaic Project, an album that once again gathers a myriad of voices and crystallizes them into a multi-faceted whole that far outweighs the sum of its parts.

Carrington proclaims, “The Mosaic Project is a beautiful gathering of great female artists. Though it is my project, it is the personalities, the lives, and the talent of all of these women that make this project so special and indeed a group offering and unique statement we made together based on common, yet diverse, points of view.”

“A veteran jazz drummer with a knack for literate funk, Terri Lyne Carrington has her fifth such album, “The Mosaic Project” (Concord), due out on Tuesday. It comes with a strong concept: all the 20-odd musicians featured are women, from the pianist Helen Sung to the percussionist Sheila E. The caliber of these artists speaks for itself; there’s no sense of compromise here, or of an agenda limiting the options. And Ms. Carrington, who produced the album, brings accessibility and continuity to the listening experience.” – Nate Chinen, New York Times

Terri Lyne Carrington | The Mosaic Project “Considering how much men dominate the jazz world, drummer Carrington’s Mosaic would be noteworthy just for its all-female assemblage of talent. But what the 21 stellar musicians and vocalists have accomplished is a soulful, moving work that would stand out regardless of the artists’ gender. Carrington has blended the skills of these wonderfully gifted performers and created something that is, as Cassandra Wilson sings, Simply Beautiful.” – Steve Jones, USA Today
