By: Bill Craig

Drawing its name from the biblically based title of the first song it performed, Sweet Honey in the Rock has had about 23 members rotate through since 1973 (Reagon retired from the group in 2004).

The 2013 edition of Sweet Honey features a handful of different lineups and formats. The group is bringing its holiday concert, the five-woman Holydays show, to Richmond for its Monday evening Carpenter Theatre performance.

We also have a lot of songs from our repertoire that deal with uplifting and light and joy and stars and anything that’s positive.”
