George Wein’s CareFusion Jazz Festival 55 kicks off the CareFusion Jazz Festival Series August 7-9, 2009. Known for attracting the biggest names in jazz as well as up and coming artists, the Festival’s 55th year is sure to be a crowd pleaser, with jazz greats like Dave Brubeck, Tony Bennett and Branford Marsalis playing at the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island. The Festival kicks off Friday, August 7, 2009 with Howard Alden and the Anat Cohen Quartet, who are opening for Chaka Khan with the George Duke Trio at 8 pm at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Other International Music Network artists that will be performing include Joshua Redman, Esperanza Spalding, Joe Lovano, and The Bad Plus.
