Legendary a cappella female ensemble Sweet Honey in the Rock will release its 24th album on Jan. 22. #LoveInEvolution (SHE-ROCKS 5, Inc./Appleseed Recordings) features new single “IDK, But I’m LOL,” available on iTunes and Amazon. Member Nitanju Bolade Casel produced the Grammy-nominated group’s first studio release in nine years, once again showcasing Sweet Honey’s famously eclectic mix of R&B/soul, jazz, blues, gospel and African chants. Casel is one of four core vocalists alongside Aisha Kahlil and founding members Louise Robinson and Carol Maillard. Rounding out the lineup is American Sign Language interpreter Shirley Childress. Established more than 40 years ago in Washington, D.C., Sweet Honey in the Rock will perform at New York City’s Carnegie Hall on Feb. 11.
