Punch Brothers, All Ashore (Nonesuch)
Mandolin wizard and Nickel Creek co-founder Chris Thile has made five albums with his Grammy Award-winning group, Punch Brothers. But the San Diego native and his all-acoustic band have never sounded quite as confident or understated as on All Ashore. The nine-song album intricately fuses bluegrass and chamber music, folk and pop, contemporary classical and edgy post-rock, into a unique synthesis.
